The town of Rauma lies on the southwest coast of Finland, some 90 km north of Turku (Åbo). Rauma is one the oldest towns in Finland and famous for the wooden town part called Old Rauma, which is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Read more about Rauma.
Almost 400 of the 35000 townspeople in Rauma are members of Rauman Käyttö- ja Seurakoirat - RKS (Canine Club of Rauma). The Club house and the training fields in Susivuori are in active use by enthusiasts of different canine sports - working dogs, agility, obedience. RKS also plays a major role in the organisation of the annual Rauma All Breeds Dog Show.
The Working Dog Section of RKS bears the main responsibility for organising the Nordic Championships for Working Dogs in 2009. We are assisted in this huge task by working dog enthusiasts in Harjavalta (tracking trial) and Ala-Satakunta Regional Division of the German Shepherd Club of Finland (IPO tracks).
